IER for Food
Sugar
General sugar processes are classified into the production of raw sugar and refined sugar. The raw sugar manufacturing process doesn’t need IERs, but refined sugar requires IERs necessarily. For refined sugar process, it is also distinguished between the combination use of IERs & activation carbon and the use of two different types of IERs. Without using activated carbon, there are a large number of colorants to be removed by IER.
In such a case, it is recommended to use the combination with TRILITE ASP10, which has the outstanding feature of enhanced decolorization capacity and long lifetime with excellent resistance to organic fouling of resins.
Nucleic Acid
Nucleic acids, one of the popular food additives, are flavor enhancers and used as seasonings. IERs are used for adsorption, separation, and concentration of nucleic acids. TRILITE AMP26N and NAC-4 are Tailored resins with high performance and long life cycle.
Starch Sugar
The starch sugar refining is one of the primary food application for IERs. Unlike water treatment applications, there are other variables affecting operation yields such as total organic contents or viscosity and adsorption capacity to specific materials, hence customized Tailored resins optimized for specific operating conditions are recommended.
Ion Exchange Resins used as food applications need for strict control and management of impurities and foreign substances in the manufacturing process, and are registered as food grade between countries with necessary permits as a Food additive. Also, Halal certificates are required for Islamic countries.
TRILITE food application IERs are optimized for various domestic and overseas food processes and contribute to enhancing competitiveness to customers by continuous technical consultation and product improvements.
Lysine
Ion Exchange Resins are used for separation and purification of amino acids, constituents of protein. Lysine as a feed nutrition additive is the most commercialized amino acids. TRILITE MC-08LS is a Tailored UPS resin with outstanding adsorption capacity, mechanical and chemical stability.
